Circle Line Cruises has announced a specialized lineup of water and land experiences to mark America’s 250th anniversary celebration from July 3 through July 8. The scheduled events focus on providing public access to the large maritime gathering arriving in New York Harbor.
The regional celebration features 37 tall ships representing more than 20 nations alongside over 40 allied and United States naval vessels. The holiday gathering also includes a 120-aircraft aerial salute conducted by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels above New York City.
On July 3, the operator will run a tall ships preview cruise from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to give passengers an early view of 22 Class A tall ships anchored in the harbor. This will be followed on July 4 by an early morning parade cruise positioned directly along the water procession route.
For those preferring a land-based view, a public watch party is scheduled at Pier 81 on July 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. featuring waterfront viewing areas, food trucks, and entertainment. That evening, the company will host its annual fireworks cruise from 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., providing views of the Macy’s fireworks display alongside an onboard buffet.
From July 5 through July 8, standard daily sightseeing cruises will adjust routes to pass near the remaining tall ships while they are docked at various locations throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New Jersey. Craig Kanarick, CEO of Circle Line Cruises, stated that the organization spent months building options to accommodate families wanting to see the historic vessels pass the Statue of Liberty.
