The John Wood Band has scheduled a summer concert performance in New York City. The live musical event will take place at the Mercury Lounge on June 25. The appearance is part of an extensive 2026 national touring schedule following the release of their new single titled Just A Little Longer, which is currently available across standard streaming platforms.
The newly released track was written collaboratively by band members John Wood, Nick Matthews, Blake Weinbach, and William Bennett. The recording was handled by producer Wolfgang Zimmerman and blends elements of pop, rock, and soul instrumentation. The band previously established a regional following across the Southeast by performing opening slots for musical acts including Innlet and Congress The Band.
The six-piece musical group originally formed in 2025 in Wilmington, North Carolina. The project was initiated after singer-songwriter John Wood completed a solo acoustic performance opening for Winyah and Harvey Street, which prompted the expansion into a full ensemble. The current permanent lineup features lead guitarist Brody Folkers, saxophonist TJ Roy, keyboardist Grant Harward, bassist Jay Eades, and drummer Caleb Dulin.
The members initially connected as a group of friends and fraternity brothers attending the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Aside from their newest single, the group previously published their debut studio project as a full six-piece lineup titled the Chronology EP. That record includes earlier tracks such as Dry Eyes and Learn A Lesson, which have been integrated into their touring sets.
The upcoming Manhattan performance will feature the group’s collaborative songwriting material and live instrumentation. The band continues to travel consistently this year to support their independent record releases. Additional information regarding venue access and regional calendar scheduling is managed through the group’s official distribution channels.
