Brooklyn Commons Park will host an afternoon of international soccer and outdoor activities in Downtown Brooklyn on Tuesday, June 16. The event, running from 2:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., features big-screen viewings of the matches between France and Senegal, as well as Norway and Iraq. Attendees can also access the Sound and Fury Beer Garden during the screenings.
The beer garden space will feature drinks, games, and a live DJ in the center of Downtown Brooklyn. Individuals who RSVP online for the Tuesday afternoon soccer viewing event will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win two free drink tickets.
On Wednesday, June 17, the park will partner with Brooklyn Bridge Parents to host a family-focused event from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The location will transform into Downtown Brooklyn’s Kids’ Soccer Village for the afternoon. This community gathering is designed to offer various family-friendly games and interactive stations before the main soccer broadcast begins.
The youth-focused area will feature several interactive options including soccer-themed crafts, goal-shooting activities, and foosball tables. Children and families can also participate in LEGO play and live screen printing stations set up throughout the park space.
Following the afternoon activities at the Kids’ Soccer Village, attendees will gather to watch a live broadcast of the match between England and Croatia. This family-friendly watch party will allow neighborhood fans to cheer on the teams together on the big screen.
