Jim Henson’s Creature Shop announced Tuesday it is extending its behind-the-scenes tours through September, releasing a new block of tickets for its historic Queens location. The 80-minute guided experiences are now available every Saturday through Sept. 26, 2026.
The tour offers a comprehensive look at the workshop where characters for “Fraggle Rock,” “Sesame Street,” and “The Muppet Show” were created. Highlights of the visit include a walk-through of the award-winning shop, a live puppetry demonstration by a Henson puppeteer, and a meet-and-greet session with a master puppet builder to discuss the craft of character construction.
In anticipation of what would have been founder Jim Henson’s 90th birthday this September, the Shop has updated the tour to include personal items curated from The Jim Henson Company’s archives. Visitors will also have access to exclusive merchandise and photo opportunities with iconic characters designed by the shop’s artists.
Tickets for the experience are priced at $150, plus taxes and fees, and are available through the Jim Henson Experiences website. Recent credits for the Creature Shop include the Emmy-winning “Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock,” the “Five Nights at Freddy’s” film franchise, and work for theatrical productions such as “My Neighbour Totoro” and “Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas.”
