
The Frick Collection has secured a major three-year sponsorship agreement with global fashion house Louis Vuitton to fund upcoming exhibitions, public programs, and institutional research.
The corporate partnership begins this month and runs from 2026 through 2028. Under the agreement, Louis Vuitton will serve as a principal cultural sponsor, providing financial backing for three major special exhibitions.
The funding will also support one full year of “Louis Vuitton First Fridays,” an initiative that extends the museum’s established series of monthly free public evenings. Additionally, the sponsorship covers the creation of a temporary, two-year staff position designated as the Louis Vuitton Curatorial Research Associate.
The announcement precedes a private event at the museum this week. Louis Vuitton will present its Cruise 2027 fashion show, spearheaded by artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière, inside a series of the Frick’s first-floor galleries on Wednesday, May 20. The museum will close to the public for a few days to accommodate the private presentation.
“The House’s commitment to cultural experiences of the highest quality aligns well with our own, and this sponsorship over the next three years will provide critical funding for three integral areas of the museum’s mission: exhibitions, public programming, and art historical research,” Axel Rüger, the Frick’s Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Director, said in a statement. Rüger noted that the financial support arrives as the museum enters a new chapter following its recent renovation.
The fashion house indicated that the multi-year collaboration builds upon its history of hosting runway events at architecturally significant global venues.
“This sponsorship at the Frick not only reinforces Louis Vuitton’s dedication to supporting the arts but also illustrates how such exceptional venues become integral to the Louis Vuitton story, enriching our narrative with each collection,” Pietro Beccari, CEO of Louis Vuitton, said.
